Meet the Team: Beverley Leeman

Beverley Leeman reflects on three decades at Bell Lamb & Joynson.

I’m Bev, and I’m the Operations Manager at Bell Lamb & Joynson. I started working at the firm in November 1988 having just moved over from the United States - and I’ve been here ever since!

Back then, I joined the team as an Audio Typist in our Walton Vale office, transcribing all sorts of recordings onto carbon paper with an old mechanical typewriter. Thankfully times have changed and over three decades later I’m now part of the management team at Bell Lamb & Joynson.

As well as my role as Operations Manager, I’m also responsible for legal aid billing across our criminal law and family solicitor departments - and that really requires a great deal of concentration.

I love every part of my job and the diversity of the role really keeps it interesting. Each day is different, especially now that we are splitting our time between the office and working from home. I love the flexibility of hybrid working as I can concentrate much better in my own surroundings and get more work done.

That being said, I really enjoy coming into the office to catch up with colleagues that I wouldn’t ordinarily see day-to-day in our online meetings. We are a friendly and tight-knit team and it’s a joy to be a part of it!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family - particularly my two grandsons Ashton and Cohen who are 12 and 8 - they leave me with little time for anything else really!
